Charlie Minnion - Animator and Motion Designer

Hello, nice to meet you!

I’m Charlie, a motion designer and animator based in Stroud, U.K. I have around 14 years of experience working in partnership with a wide variety of clients, agencies and production companies. Over the years, my work has spanned across social media event promotions, advertising, celebratory cartoons, educational and explainer videos, graphic facilitation, publishing and infographics.

More recently I have been fortunate enough to land some high-profile television shows, partnering up with illustrators and animating maps and title graphics. This includes both Series 1 and 2 of Perfect Pub Walks (Channel 4). These animations were longlisted in the World Illustration Awards. This led to further work with a different production company: an upcoming TV travelogue series, for which I was partnered up with another illustrator and completed both the title graphics and 16 animated maps.

My story in a nutshell…

Since I was a kid, I have enjoyed reading funny comics and watching cartoons. Motivated by my love for drawing, art, films and storytelling led me to graduate from University College Falmouth with a 1st class degree in Digital Animation. Since then I moved to London; spending time on building links with some great clients and working on a number of exciting projects. My partner and I left the big city in 2021, had a couple of kids and are now happily settled in amongst the beautiful hills and valleys of Stroud. When I am not busy animating, I am hanging out with the family or playing bass in my ska band!
